Building Trust Through Standards and Certification

2024-2025 Board v2

The Fire Marshals Association of Oklahoma recognizes the importance of formal minimum standards to ensure all aspects of fire prevention are understood statewide. Credentialing, certification, education, and experience set clear expectations for Fire Marshals and strengthen public safety.

Minimum standards serve as a baseline for knowledge, skills, and ethics, while certifications and licenses validate a professional’s commitment to these standards. This builds trust, promotes accountability, and supports continuous improvement.

In public safety, healthcare, construction, and engineering, such standards safeguard communities and ensure professionals remain current with evolving practices. They also reinforce legal and ethical compliance, protecting both the public and professionals.

Ultimately, minimum standards and credentialing create a culture of trust, competence, and excellence that benefits individuals, industries, and society as a whole.
